CE STANDARD FOR MOTORCYCLE TROUSERS & JACKETS
Standard EN 17092
Standard EN 17092 dating from 2020 “Protective clothing for motorcyclists” – Jackets, trousers and one or two-piece suits, defines the precise, replicable framework based on scientific studies of accidentology for the conduct of tests to certify protective clothing for motorcyclists.
CUTTING THE CLOTHING BY AREA ACCORDING TO THE RISK CATEGORY:
During an accident, the risks of impact and abrasion are variable on an item of clothing. The clothing is then cut at 4 areas according to the risk category:
• The location of area 1 represents a high impact risk: area 1 must be provided with protectors designed to absorb shocks
• The locations of area 1 and area 2 represent a high abrasion risk
• The locations of area 3 represent a moderate abrasion risk

MAIN TEST CRITERIA FOR MOTORCYCLE TROUSERS & JACKETS
